11.11.2009 The great price payer

If you think this picture is harsh, then I agree with you. But what we must never forget is that this picture does not do justice to the torture that our Lord Jesus Christ endured for us.

Isaiah 52:14 As many were astonied (appalled, awestruck) at thee (Jesus); his visage (appearance) was so marred (disfigured) more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:
But our redemption was purchased with his blood.
Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
No this is not a pretty sight and it is hard to look at. There is a place somewhere in me, when I look at this that hurts deep inside, it grieves my very soul.
Through this price comes the free gift of God that so many people reject, the price of Jesus' death to pay the price of death and blood so I wouldn't have to go to hell.
How do we get this free gift of grace through faith? By accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
Romans 10:9-10 v9) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. v10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
It's fun to believe that our salvation was paid for by Jesus and that it was done without any bad stuff happening. That this great person came and worked out some deal to save me from certian death, like some kind of negotiation or some act of deplomacy.
But the truth is, it cost a great painful, torturous, shockingly horrendous, terrible, atrocious, unspeakable and appaling price. We who are saved should live in a way that honors such a price. This is the very reason why those who reject Jesus, the great price payer, openly choose their own final destination. Their own destiny lays squarely in their own hands of free will and choice.
Many harden their hearts toward God because they believe he will one day cast their loved ones into hell. But the Bible is clear, they freely reject Jesus and his mercy by their own free wil thereby sealing their own fate.
John 3:18 ...but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
I choose to believe in Jesus.
John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;

WILL YOU REMEMBER!
